Position Summary: Construction Associate
The Construction Associate will support our ongoing construction projects and contribute to the delivery of sustainable infrastructure solutions in partnership with internal teams and external collaborators.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Construction Lead on planning and implementation of sustainable development projects.
- Coordinate project timelines and execution with service providers to ensure timely delivery and client satisfaction.
- Prepare Bills of Quantities (BoQs), material schedules, and other cost-related documents.
- Assist with Requests for Quotations (RFQs), bid evaluations, and provider selection.
- Support the recruitment and engagement of artisans, professionals, contractors, and hardware vendors.
- Contribute to the organization of workshops and training sessions for fundis.
- Handle customer requisitions via the JaGedo Platform.
- Perform other duties aligned with the position’s scope and purpose.
Skills & Qualifications
Required:
- BSc / Higher Diploma / Professional Certification in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or Quantity Surveying
- 0–3 years of relevant experience
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, PlanSwift, and other engineering or costing tools
- Strong MS Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

- Attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Clear and logical writing and communication
- Strong interpersonal skills and team orientation

Reporting Structure
Reports to: Chief Construction Officer
Collaborates with: Internal construction team, consultants, artisans, hardware vendors, and contractors
Work Conditions & Requirements
Work Environment:
Hybrid work model with on-site visits, including travel to remote project areas with limited amenities. May involve extended working hours.
