Associate, Salesforce
Job Description
As of the end of 2024, Aceli has paid out incentives on over 3,000 loans to more than 40 lenders in its five countries of operation. Aceli leverages a highly customized Salesforce platform to collect lender loan data and determine the eligibility and amount of monthly and quarterly incentive payouts.
Two factors drive the search for this role: i) Aceli plans to double the number of loans for review in 2025 and seeks to streamline both the process and the platform; and ii) lender feedback indicates opportunities to enhance the lender user experience moving forward.
The Associate, Salesforce will: i) work alongside technology partners and the product team on feature development, and ii) implement direct changes to the Salesforce platform.
The ideal candidate will bring a blend of product management and technical expertise. Given the diverse range of internal and external stakeholders, this individual will need to be highly customer-centric—someone who genuinely enjoys solving problems and does so thoughtfully. This role is based in Nairobi, Kenya, or other GMT +3 time zones.
Key Responsibilities:
- Requirements Gathering & Feature Scoping
Collect and refine requirements from both internal stakeholders (Product team and other departments) and external stakeholders (Aceli lenders). Translate identified business needs and user pain points into clear technical specifications. - Roadmap Development & Management
Propose and manage feature prioritization in alignment with organizational objectives, stakeholder feedback, and trade-off analyses. Collaborate with internal product stakeholders to ensure the roadmap remains feasible and impactful. - User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
Conduct and oversee UAT for features delivered by external Salesforce partners, validating that development work meets Aceli’s quality standards and user expectations. - Code Reviews & Audits
Participate in periodic code reviews to confirm alignment with any new incentive design changes and to resolve bugs, ensuring the overall integrity and performance of payment-related functionality. - Project Management for Feature Rollouts
Coordinate end-to-end feature launches, including pre-rollout communication to internal and external users, preparation of user and troubleshooting guides, and post-launch support. Monitor the impact of new features on organizational goals. - Retroactive Feature Documentation & User Support
Develop and maintain comprehensive user guides, focusing on key modules of the Aceli platform to ensure effective support for both internal and external audiences. - Targeted Feature Development
Collaborate with Aceli’s Salesforce vendor and in-house developer to implement enhancements or adjustments deemed best suited for internal development. Accelerate time-to-market by managing select development tasks internally. - Salesforce Administration & Super-User Support
Serve as the primary technical resource for Aceli staff, addressing platform inquiries, troubleshooting issues, and guiding best practices to optimize system usage.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated Salesforce code development experience (sample projects required). At least 5 years of experience working with Salesforce as a developer.
- Experience in product management: defining, prioritizing, and managing feature requirements.
- Experience creating user guides and providing user support
- Experience with linking Salesforce data tables to data visualization platforms
- Adept problem-solver: able to convert team technology pain points into requirements and to propose solutions that consider all necessary factors
- Customer-centric: showcases an empathetic approach to user problem solving; enjoys making user experience better
- Professional with a demonstrated record of the highest integrity and ethical conduct, and Bachelor’s degree. Need not be in a technical field.
