BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT AND MARKETING MANAGER

The facility offers individualized treatment approaches across a wide array of services, including Psychotherapy, Addiction Support, Marriage Therapy, Group Therapy, Family Therapy, and Wellness Talks for organizations, institutions, and schools.

Role Summary

We are is seeking a dynamic and results-oriented Business Development & Marketing Manager to lead marketing, business development, corporate communications, and client relations efforts. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer (COO), the BDM will be responsible for driving brand visibility, building corporate partnerships, growing revenue, and optimizing client experience. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with strong business acumen, excellent communication and negotiation skills, and a proven track record in healthcare business development and marketing.

Key Responsibilities

Business Development

  • Identify and secure new business opportunities, partnerships, and institutional clients including insurers, corporates, and government agencies to grow service uptake.
  • Build and sustain strong referral networks with hospitals, private practitioners, HR departments, and other stakeholders to enhance client inflow.
  • Negotiate service contracts, manage EAP programs, and design customized mental health packages for schools and organizations.
  • Conduct market intelligence activities including competitor analysis, pricing reviews, and strategic lead tracking with conversion analytics.
  • Represent the hospital in external engagements (forums, expos, conferences), provide monthly performance reports, and collaborate on deal closure and collections.

Marketing

  • Plan and execute digital and traditional marketing campaigns targeting specific audiences such as HR managers, educators, and healthcare providers.
  • Create branded content and materials (ads, visuals, SEO-friendly posts) to promote services like inpatient care, detox, therapy, and wellness programs.
  • Lead awareness and anti-stigma initiatives through community outreach, school-based programs, and mental health advocacy.
  • Track and analyze campaign performance (leads, ROI, engagement) and adjust strategies for maximum impact and visibility.
  • Align all marketing efforts with the hospital’s mission and strategic priorities while promoting trust, accessibility, and quality care.
  • Corporate Communications & Client Relations
  • Develop and implement comprehensive communication strategies, media relations plans, and crisis response protocols to strengthen public perception.
  • Produce and manage content for brochures, newsletters, press releases, the hospital website, and digital platforms.
  • Oversee customer service and front office teams, ensuring professional, responsive, and clientcentered service delivery.
  • Establish structured feedback mechanisms, resolve escalated concerns, and ensure continuous client engagement and satisfaction.
  • Organize stakeholder forums (CMEs, HR wellness events), maintain referral feedback loops, and standardize client-facing service protocols.

Key Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Business Administration, Communications, Public Relations, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in corporate communications, marketing, business development, or client relations, preferably in the healthcare sector. Three (3) years must have been in a people leadership role.
  • Certified leadership course lasting not less than six (6) weeks
  • Proven track record in business development, corporate client acquisition, and revenue generation.
  • Strong understanding of the Kenyan healthcare industry, insurance partnerships, and corporate client management.
  • Experience in digital marketing, social media management, and public relations.
  • Excellent negotiation, relationship-building, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities.
