Distribution Manager at MUA Kenya
Applications are invited from appropriately qualified candidates for the position of Distribution Manager (Ref No 007) in the Business Development Department. The position is open to both Internal and External candidates.

PURPOSE:
This position is responsible for managing and delivering a wide range of sales and marketing strategies and initiatives to support the achievement of the business strategies on new and renewal revenues.
Key Deliverables:
- Manage the planning, budgeting and revenue forecasting process of assigned distribution channels and providing regular reporting to Head of Distribution & Marketing where appropriate.
- Proactively pursue achievement of monthly, quarterly and yearly sales targets and objectives.
- Actively participate in the formulation and development of the business strategy in line with the objectives of the company and ensure effective integration with sales and marketing plans.
- Ensure that sales and marketing projects and plans are effectively defined to achieve alignment with overall business unit objectives as well as overall company sales and marketing strategies.
- Initiate and support Product Reviews and Development through research and innovation to provide insight into target markets, customer needs and new market developments.
- Ensure the effective management, motivation and development of the assigned distribution channels to achieve excellent customer experience standards and enabling the teams to acquire the specialist skills needed to perform their roles.
- Manage projects, defining plan/resource requirements ensuring deliverables are achieved within the required time, cost and quality parameters mitigating any risk to the business.
- Ensure that the necessary materials and resources needed for effective delivery of sales and marketing strategies in the medium to long-term is well planned.
- Continually monitor the effectiveness of the integrated sales and marketing strategy and planned activities, providing and seeking feedback on the quality of delivery and suggesting / implementing corrective action where appropriate.
- Ensure compliance with company policy manuals, guidelines and regulatory policies recommending action where necessary to minimise risk.
- Any other roles as may be assigned by immediate supervisor
Key Competencies
- Proven experience in sales and marketing planning, budgeting and revenue forecasting.
- Hands on experience in the management of insurance distributors.
- Highly networked individuals with the ability to build and maintain business relationships.
- Familiarity and skills with the use of IT, excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Have a thorough understanding of regulatory guidelines touching on insurance distributors.
- Good interpersonal skills & excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage time efficiently
Academic Background & Relevant Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration/BCOM or its equivalent from a recognized institution.
- Professional marketing and sales certifications are essential.
- Professional qualifications in the insurance management industry.
- Practical sales and marketing experience in the insurance industry.
- At least 5 Years and above experience in sales management position.
- Good understanding of sales and marketing e.g. promotions, market research, product development & distribution and presentations etc.
