Graduate Trainee (Application Systems)

About the Role

Pioneer Insurance Holdings Limited is seeking a motivated and talented Graduate Trainee (Application Systems) to join their Digital Transformation team.
This role offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in software development, systems integration, and application support within a dynamic and innovative environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the development, maintenance, and support of applications implemented in Java and Oracle Database.
  • Perform systems integration through web services.
  • Design and develop system reports to support business operations.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues on existing applications.
  • Create or update technical system documentation, including design documents, user manuals, and installation instructions.
  • Collaborate closely with other developers and support specialists within the department.

Knowledge & Skill Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • Recent graduate (Class of 2024 or 2025).
  • Intermediate understanding of Java programming language; knowledge of Spring Boot is an added advantage.
  • Experience with RESTful web services and/or Android programming is desirable.
  • Strong understanding of SQL commands; experience with Oracle Database is an added advantage.
  • Solid grasp of data structures, database theory, and software engineering principles, including data normalization and SDLC.
  • Familiarity with Unix-based operating systems.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of the insurance industry is an added advantage.
