YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Supervision of duties of all stewards, kitchen facilities, and operations
- Supervise the sanitation, cleanliness, hygiene as well as the quality level of products and services.
- Ensure back of house areas are maintained to the highest cleanliness standards and cleaning schedules are followed and completed.
- Directs and assists stewards in order to make clean up more efficient.
- Assist Chefs and kitchen staff with various tasks as needed.
- Check more specifically the proper use of chemicals and washing detergents.
- Stock take of equipment and other items as required.
- Work with all departments to ensure items that are required for service are available when needed.
- Take all necessary actions to reduce breakage of China and Glass wares.
- Supervise stewards ability to follow loss prevention policies to prevent accidents and control costs.
- Any other duties as may be assigned by management.

- Proven work experience as a Head Steward
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast paced environment
- Management skills that help in overall management of the college kitchens
- Communication skills and professional ethics that helps promote good work relationships with colleagues and students
Education and Experience
- A Diploma in hospitality or related field with previous experiences with stewarding department within a hotel,
- Two years relevant experience leading teams in a kitchen set up
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong interpersonal and problem solving abilities
- A deep understanding of, commitment to and involvement in hospitality Industry
