Sanlam Investments East Africa Ltd (SIEAL) is a leading fund manager in the region and has a strong record of accomplishment in service delivery and performance. SIEAL is seeking an analytical and self-driven Investments Operations Assistant to support our Investments Operations department.
Key Responsibilities Reporting to the Investments Operations Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following:
- Ensure timely, accurate posting of cash transactions and settlement of investment transactions.
- Execute daily cash reconciliations and monthly asset reconciliations ensuring accuracy, identifying discrepancies and actively following up for resolution.
- Issue settlement instructions to custodians within their service level agreed timelines and report on any exceptions.
- Daily pricing of all asset classes securities as guided in the valuation policy.
- Diligently track and promptly update corporate actions for all securities held.
- Accurate and timely pricing of the allocated Unit Trust Funds and checking for assets liabilities matching daily.
- Deliver accurate and timely holdings, Assets Under Management (AUM) report, valuations, and performance reports, ensuring data integrity and meeting all deadlines.
- Generate accurate client reports (valuations, cash statements, performance reports, income reports and any other ad-hoc reports) and timely distribution as required by each client or their administrators.
- Investment growth breakdown of performance, attribution reporting and composite management and analysis.
- Ensure the prompt and accurate compilation and distribution of internal and external reports within established deadlines: custodians, administrators, regulators and internal teams.
- Adhere rigorously to all regulatory reporting deadlines, ensuring timely submission of required reports without exception.
- Adhere to Company policies including internal and external polices, risk, compliance and regulatory standards.
- Any other responsibilities as documented in your annual performance objectives and as may be assigned and communicated from time to time.
Minimum Qualifications and Experience
- A bachelor’s degree in business or relevant field from a recognized university
- Certification in investments is an added advantage
- 1 – 2 years’ experience gained in a similar role either in the fund management industry or banking industry.
