LAY PATIENT NAVIGATOR
Reporting to the ONCOLOGY CONSULTANT.
Purpose: To glorify God by providing emotional support, assisting with logistics and connecting oncology patients with necessary resources.
Job Duties and Responsibilities•
- Provide support and guidance to cancer patients and their families• Assist with scheduling appointments and filing patients’ paperwork• Connect patients with community resources and other support services
- Identify and address barriers to care, such as financial, transportation, language or social challenges
- Maintain regular contact with patients and follow up to support adherence to the treatment plan through continuous support
- Engage with local organizations to raise awareness and connect patients with available resources
Applicants Qualifications, Experience, Competencies and Attributes
- Diploma in business administration or equivalent.
- Training in patient advocacy or patient navigation is an added benefit.
- Experience in healthcare or community outreach preferred.
