Legal Intern
Role Overview
Zeraki is seeking a brilliant, dynamic and driven Legal Intern to join our fast-paced in-house legal team. This is an entry-level opportunity designed for law students or recent graduates eager to gain hands-on experience in a multi-jurisdictional EdTech environment, responding to concerns in Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania. The Legal Intern will support day-to-day legal operations including legal research, document drafting, administrative support, and compliance tracking.
Key Responsibilities
- Legal Research: Investigate legal and regulatory requirements across jurisdictions and summarize findings for internal use.
- Document Drafting: Assist in drafting basic contracts (NDAs, Data Processing Agreements, MoUs, Partnership Agreements, Employment Contracts); legal correspondence; and internal memos.
- Administration & File Management: Maintain digital and physical legal files. Update trackers for statutory and regulatory filings, intellectual property, and contract renewals.
- Meeting Support: Take minutes during internal/external legal meetings and follow up on action items.
- Cross-Department Liaison: Support requests from other departments by gathering documents or clarifying internal policies.
- General Support: Schedule legal meetings, assist with filings and license applications, and ensure proper documentation for legal expenses and invoicing.

Candidate Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Law (LLB) – Third year student to 2025 Graduate
- Prior internship or volunteer experience in legal or compliance work is an added advantage
- Proficiency with Microsoft tools
