The Mechanical Supervisor will oversee the mechanical maintenance and repair of our hydraulic pumps and compressors for Backhoe, Wheel Loader, Rollers, Generators, Light Vehicles, Canter and other such equipment.
Job Summary
The Mechanical Supervisor will be responsible for managing a team, ensuring equipment and systems operate at optimal efficiency, and supporting continuous improvement in maintenance practices.
This role requires strong leadership, technical expertise, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the installation, maintenance, and repair of mechanical equipment, including hydraulic pumps and compressors, as well as heavy machinery equipment, i.e, Backhoe, Wheel Loader, Rollers, Generators, Light Vehicles, Canter, etc
- Supervise daily mechanical maintenance operations and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
- Plan, schedule, and assign work to mechanical technicians, contractors, and support staff.
- Monitor equipment performance and diagnose issues to prevent downtime and extend machinery lifespan.
- Ensure adherence to preventive and predictive maintenance schedules.
- Manage inventory and procurement of mechanical spare parts and tools.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and prepare technical reports.
- Provide training and technical guidance to maintenance staff.
- Coordinate with other departments (e.g., production, safety, engineering) to support overall plant operations.
- Enforce compliance with safety regulations, company policies, and industry standards.
Qualifications
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- Minimum [5+] years of experience in mechanical maintenance, with at least [2+] years in a supervisory role.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, industrial machinery, and maintenance procedures.
- Familiarity with CMMS (Computerised Maintenance Management System) software.
- Excellent leadership, organisational, and communication skills.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and manuals.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
Other Qualifications
- Experience in [industry, e.g., manufacturing, oil & gas, power generation].
- Certifications in maintenance or mechanical systems (e.g., HVAC, hydraulics).
- Knowledge of lean maintenance principles or Six Sigma.
Working Conditions
