We are seeking a passionate and motivated Mechanic Intern to join our transport & fleet management team. This internship provides an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience in assisting in the maintenance and repairing of commercial trucks while working alongside experienced professionals.
Key Skills & Qualifications:
- Education: Diploma/Certificate in Automotive Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related technical field (awaiting graduation or recently completed).
- Basic knowledge of diesel engines, mechanical systems, and workshop tools.
- Willingness to learn electrical diagnostics (12V/24V systems).
- Good communication skills, discipline, and teamwork ability.
- High integrity, attention to detail, and a strong work ethic.
- Knowledge: Vehicle systems, preventive maintenance basics, workshop safety.
- Technical Skills: Basic mechanical repair, familiar with diagnostic tools.
- Soft Skills: Problem-solving, eagerness to learn, time management, and collaboration.
Key Competencies
- Assist in routine servicing of company trucks (oil changes, brake adjustments, tyre checks, etc.).
- Support senior mechanics in diagnosing and repairing mechanical and electrical faults.
- Participate in preventive maintenance schedules and daily vehicle inspections.
- Help in preparing service/job cards and maintaining accurate workshop records.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment while adhering to HSE standards. • Carry out any other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
