Job Purpose
The Medical Officer (Night Coverage) will be responsible for providing high-quality clinical services, ensuring patient safety, and maintaining superior customer satisfaction during night shifts.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and provide appropriate medical and surgical care to patients.
- Manage clients for reproductive health services in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
- Admit and manage patients requiring special care, including investigations and treatments.
- Examine and communicate with patients to diagnose medical conditions accurately.
- Prepare and maintain comprehensive medical records and treatment notes.
- Coordinate planned care with patients and multidisciplinary teams.
- Manage emergency cases effectively and ensure proper patient referral procedures.
- Maintain excellent interpersonal relationships with patients and staff to ensure superior client experience.
- Obtain informed consent for all medical procedures as per hospital policy.
- Provide advice on healthy lifestyles and preventive care.
- Participate in Continuous Medical Education (CME) sessions for clinical staff.
- Perform any other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Education & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Medicine and Surgery from a recognized university or medical training college.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a licensed Medical Officer in a busy maternity or healthcare facility.
- Valid Practicing License from the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Board (KMPDB).
- A Master’s degree will be an added advantage.
Experience & Skills
- Proven experience working in a maternity or startup healthcare environment.
- Additional experience in Neonatal, Paediatric, or Reproductive Health is an added advantage.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Computer proficiency, especially in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong commitment to delivering high-quality patient care.
- Ability to work effectively within a diverse and collaborative team.
- Initiative and problem-solving capability.
