Job Purpose

The Medical Officer (Night Coverage) will be responsible for providing high-quality clinical services, ensuring patient safety, and maintaining superior customer satisfaction during night shifts.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor and provide appropriate medical and surgical care to patients.
• Manage clients for reproductive health services in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
• Admit and manage patients requiring special care, including investigations and treatments.
• Examine and communicate with patients to diagnose medical conditions accurately.
• Prepare and maintain comprehensive medical records and treatment notes.
• Coordinate planned care with patients and multidisciplinary teams.
• Manage emergency cases effectively and ensure proper patient referral procedures.
• Maintain excellent interpersonal relationships with patients and staff to ensure superior client experience.
• Obtain informed consent for all medical procedures as per hospital policy.
• Provide advice on healthy lifestyles and preventive care.
• Participate in Continuous Medical Education (CME) sessions for clinical staff.
• Perform any other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Education & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Medicine and Surgery from a recognized university or medical training college.
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a licensed Medical Officer in a busy maternity or healthcare facility.
• Valid Practicing License from the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Board (KMPDB).
• A Master’s degree will be an added advantage.

Experience & Skills

• Proven experience working in a maternity or startup healthcare environment.
• Additional experience in Neonatal, Paediatric, or Reproductive Health is an added advantage.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Computer proficiency, especially in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong commitment to delivering high-quality patient care.
• Ability to work effectively within a diverse and collaborative team.
• Initiative and problem-solving capability.
