Intern, Africa Regional Planning & Coordination
The Intern will provide critical support to the Regional Planning & Coordination team by assisting in research, content creation, and documentation. This role will contribute to the development of the Regional Newsletter, support research initiatives, and help foster organizational engagement across the region. This is a 6-month renewable contract .
Responsibilities
Data Analysis: 50%
- Work closely with the Regional Communications Lead to document stories and case studies for the Regional Newsletter.
- Develop engaging and timely content that highlights regional achievements and fosters organizational engagement.
- Assist in maintaining an up-to-date repository of regional success stories and program updates.
Research Support: 30%
- Conduct research to support regional initiatives, including data collection, analysis, and synthesis.
- Assist in preparing research briefs and reports to inform decision-making and strategy development.
- Contribute to the development of evidence-based recommendations for program improvement.
Administrative and Logistical Support: 20%
- Provide administrative support for regional events, including planning and logistics.
- Assist in organizing and maintaining regional documentation and files.
- Support the team in other tasks as assigned by the Chief of Staff.
Requirements
- Recently completed a degree in communications, international development, social sciences, or a related field. Recent graduates who are not more than three years out of University.
- Demonstrated interest in non-profit work, research, or communications.
- Prior experience in content creation, research, or administrative support is a plus.
- Writing and Communication Skills: Strong ability to write clearly and concisely for diverse audiences.
- Research Skills: Basic research and data collection skills, with attention to detail.
- Organizational Skills: Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Collaboration: Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in a team.
- Adaptability: Willingness to learn and take on new challenges.
Working conditions
- Primary work hours and location must include business hours (9:00 am-5:00 pm), Monday to Friday, in Evidence Action’s Nairobi, Kenya office.
- Off-hour work may be required as necessary for overseeing/completing planned maintenance, participating in international conference calls across time-zones, or responding to technical emergency response.
Position Location
This is a 6-month renewable contract position based in Nairobi.
We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of a Kenyan employment visa at this time. Applicants must be legally authorized to work in Kenya for roles based in Kenya.
