Section in Charge – Poly Bag Section

The Section In charge will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day  operations in the poly bag section. This includes managing production schedules,  ensuring product quality, maintaining machinery, coordinating with customers, and handling teams operating extrusion, printing, cutting, and sealing machines. The role also involves supervising the preparation and mixing of masterbatch and plastic raw materials.

Job Responsibilities

  • Production Management
  • Plan and monitor daily production targets as per orders and record in ERP.
  • Ensure efficient utilization of resources (manpower, materials, machines).
  • Coordinate and schedule shifts and manpower deployment.
  • Maintain optimal inventory of raw materials and consumables.
  • Oversee preventive and breakdown maintenance activities.
  • Coordinate with the maintenance team to minimize downtime.
  • Quality Control
  • Ensure products meet quality standards and Tanzania Bureau of Standards (TBS)
  • specifications.
  • Conduct in-process inspections and coordinate final QC checks.
  • Address quality issues and implement corrective measures.
  • Raw Material and Mixing Management
  • Supervise masterbatch and plastic granule and recycle material mixing (LDPE, LLDPE, etc.).
  • Ensure proper blending ratios for different product requirements.
  • Maintain hygiene and safety in raw material handling.
  • Customer Coordination
  • Follow up with customers/cosmetic section on order requirements, delivery timelines, and feedback.
  • Provide technical support and updates to clients when needed.
  • Control costumer printing plate new preparation/replace
  • Team Supervision
  • Manage and guide operators, helpers, and machine technicians.
  • Conduct training and skill development for the production team.
  • Ensure adherence to safety standards and company policies.
  • Reporting and Documentation
  • Maintain production, quality, and maintenance records.
  • Prepare daily/weekly/monthly reports for senior management.
  • Monitor wastage and implement cost-reduction initiatives.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Diploma/Degree in Mechanical/Electrical/Plastic Engineering or related field.
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in poly bag or plastic film manufacturing.
  • Strong knowledge of extrusion, printing, cutting, and sealing operations.
  • Familiarity with quality standards like ISO, GMP,TBS (Advantage).
  • Basic computer knowledge for reporting and documentation
