The Technical Sales Representative will play a vital role in driving sales growth by engaging with farmers, retailers, and dealers. This position offers a unique opportunity to combine technical expertise with commercial acumen to support farmers and contribute to agricultural development.
Key Responsibilities
Sales Activities
- Promote and recommend fertilizers, pesticides, and seeds to farmers, retailers, and dealers based on a weekly schedule.
- Coordinate daily with customers to ensure timely delivery and superior service quality.
- Conduct and monitor field trials, serving as a liaison between the company and farmers to share insights and results.
- Organize and follow up on demo trials at growers’ levels, providing feedback to the Line Manager.
- Inform key accounts about product offerings, especially new launches, through brochures, field demonstrations, and workshops.
- Collaborate with key customers to assist in developing annual sales forecasts.
- Identify potential customers and coordinate with managers to expand market share.
- Analyze market data on competitor products, pricing, and efficiency to enhance sales strategies.
Credit and Sales Orders
- Manage customer accounts, ensuring adherence to credit limits and cash flow targets.
- Facilitate the sales order process, from completing purchase orders to confirming stock availability and delivery.
- Oversee credit note requests and obtain necessary approvals.
Collections and Receivables
- Handle payments, issue receipts, and ensure timely submission to the finance team.
- Follow up on collections and deliver account statements for customer review and agreement.
Reporting and Analysis
- Prepare daily, monthly, and quarterly sales reports, addressing discrepancies promptly.
Relationship Management
- Build and maintain professional relationships with clients through regular market visits and superior customer service.
- Resolve client concerns and foster long-term business partnerships.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Engineering.
- 3-5 years of relevant experience in agricultural sales or field operations.
- Strong knowledge of crop production, protection, pesticides, seeds, and irrigation materials.
- Proven experience in trial management and development.
- Proficiency in English and good computer skills.
