Weighing Scale Technician

Location: Victory Farms Logistics Centre (Nairobi)

We are seeking a Weighing Scale Technician to play a critical role in ensuring all weighing systems and equipment operate with precision and reliability. This position is responsible for calibration, maintenance, troubleshooting, and verification of all weighing scale units across the operational chain. The technician will uphold industry and internal company standards to ensure regulatory compliance and operational excellence.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Conduct scheduled preventive maintenance and precise calibration of both electronic and mechanical weighing scales.
  • Diagnose and resolve scale malfunctions promptly to guarantee operational accuracy and compliance.
  • Maintain comprehensive service and calibration logs for all weighing equipment.
  • Ensure all weighing systems comply with relevant regulatory and industry standards.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to investigate and resolve weighing anomalies.
  • Support the setup and commissioning of newly procured weighing systems.
  • Monitor and manage inventory for weighing-related spare parts and consumables.
  • Execute detailed preventive maintenance inspections and document outcomes effectively.
  • Rigorously uphold health, safety, and environmental protocols in all maintenance operations.
  • Provide technical input and support during internal and external audits.
  • Capable of resolving basic electrical issues, such as replacing faulty bulbs, wires, sockets, and extensions.
  • Perform any other duties as delegated by the Maintenance Manager or Engineering Lead.

Requirements

  • Diploma or Certificate in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation, or a related technical discipline.
  • Demonstrated experience in the calibration and maintenance of weighing scales.
  • Competence in basic electrical troubleshooting and repairs.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with acute attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to work independently and manage time efficiently.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; collaborative mindset.
  • Flexibility to work shifts and respond to emergency maintenance requests.
  • Advanced technical knowledge of weighing and measurement systems.
  • Practical skills in electrical fault resolution.
  • Strong documentation and record-keeping capabilities.
  • Unwavering commitment to accuracy and operational excellence.
