Purpose:
To glorify God by providing optimal nutritional care to patients while gaining work experience
Reporting to the ASSISTANT MANAGER NUTRITION.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Instruct patients, families and health care staff on individualized diet therapy, general nutrition
principles, food selection and preparation. - Conduct nutritional screenings/assessments for assigned patients applying the nutrition care
process. - Develop, review and adapt therapeutic and modified diets to meet the needs of individual patients
in cooperation with health care staff. - Instruct the catering team on food preparation in diet kitchen for conformance with prescribed
diets and standards of sanitation, palatability, appearance and nutritional quality. - Monitor nutrition programs to ensure compliance with local standards and regulations.
- Act as nutrition resource person on health care treatment team by attending ward rounds and
addressing nutrition aspects of patient care.
Applicants Qualifications, Experience, Competencies and Attributes
- Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Food, Nutrition and Dietetics or any other related field.
- Must demonstrate high integrity and ethical practice.
- Should have ability to solve problems by applying relevant nutrition knowledge.
- Must demonstrate ability to multitask.
- Must be indexed by Kenya Nutritionists and Dietician Institute(KNDI)
