Business Development Manager
Position Summary & Objectives
We are seeking a Business Development Manager to spearhead growth within the Grocery / Retail sector. This role is key to driving adoption and expansion of our Grocery / Retail solutions—transforming customer experiences while streamlining operations for business partners.
The ideal candidate will identify new business opportunities, build strategic partnerships, and manage the full cycle of partner onboarding and success. This role requires strong commercial acumen, strategic thinking, and excellent communication skills to deliver measurable business growth.
Key Responsibilities
1. Secure New Business & Drive Revenue Growth
- Identify and target key enterprise leads in the Grocery / Retail sector.
- Negotiate and close deals with prospective partners.
2. Partner Relationship Management
- Serve as the main contact for new partners throughout the onboarding process.
- Provide operational and administrative support to ensure seamless activation.
- Maintain regular communication with partners via phone, email, and visits to support performance.
- Analyse partner performance and define growth and marketing strategies.
3. Performance Analysis & Forecasting
- Own budgeting and P&L responsibilities.
- Analyse KPIs to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Forecast growth trends and evaluate progress against goals.
4. Operational Strategy & Execution
- Develop strategies to address daily commercial and operational challenges.
- Oversee partner activations and ensure alignment with commercial strategy.
5. Innovation & Development
- Stay updated on industry trends, competitors, and emerging products.
- Contribute to playbooks, frameworks, and business process enhancements.
6. Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work with marketing, product, customer success, campaigns, and customer service teams to support growth initiatives.
Requirements
- Experience: 3–5 years in Grocery / Retail Business Development, B2B Sales, or Account Management.
- Proven track record of achieving growth and sales targets.
- Languages: Fluency in English and the local operational language (written & spoken).
- Communication: Strong negotiation, presentation, and relationship management skills.
- Analytical skills: Ability to leverage data to drive performance and improvements.
- Adaptability: Quick to adjust strategies, solution-oriented, and proactive in addressing challenges.
