We are recruiting for a Maintenance Technician who will be based at our Nairobi Factory in Industrial area.

Roles and responsibilities

Electrical Maintenance

  • Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems and equipment.
  • Troubleshoot electrical faults in motors, panels, and control systems.
  • Ensure compliance with electrical safety standards and regulations.

Automation Systems Support

  • Maintain and troubleshoot PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers), HMIs (Human-Machine Interfaces), and SCADA systems.
  • Support the integration of sensors, actuators, and control systems.
  • Assist in programming or modifying automation logic as needed.

 Preventive & Predictive Maintenance

  • Conduct routine inspections and testing of electrical and automation systems.
  • Use diagnostic tools to predict failures and reduce downtime.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and logs.

Installation & Commissioning

  • Assist in the installation and commissioning of new machinery or automation systems.
  • Read and interpret electrical and automation schematics and technical drawings.

Safety & Compliance

  • Adhere to safety protocols and lockout/tagout procedures.
  • Ensure all work complies with local electrical codes and standards.
  • Participate in safety audits and risk assessments.

Documentation & Reporting

  • Maintain up-to-date documentation for wiring diagrams, PLC programs, and system configurations.
  • Report faults, repairs, and improvements to maintenance manager.

Collaboration

  • Work closely with engineers, production teams, and other technicians.
  • Provide technical support during production or process issues.

We believe you have

  • Education level – Minimum Diploma in Electrical/Electronics/Automation.
  • Work experience – Minimum 5 years
  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems and industrial automation.
  • Familiarity with PLCs (e.g., Siemens, Allen-Bradley), VFDs (both AC&DC), and industrial networks.
  • Knowledge of SAP CMMS.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and manuals.
  • Problem-solving and analytical thinking.
  • Good communication and teamwork.
