Job Summary

Standard Chartered Bank Kenya is seeking an experienced Senior Relationship Manager, Priority Banking (Chinese Clients) to manage and grow relationships with Chinese-affiliated clients. The role involves driving portfolio growth, increasing product penetration, enhancing client experience, and ensuring operational excellence through compliance and service delivery.

The ideal candidate will be fluent in Chinese and have strong financial, advisory, and relationship management skills to support high-net-worth clients in the Priority Banking segment.

Key Responsibilities

Client Relationship Management

  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with Chinese clients to drive revenue and business growth.
  • Develop and implement strategies to achieve key performance metrics, including portfolio growth, product penetration, and client retention.
  • Gain a comprehensive understanding of client profiles, financial goals, and asset portfolios.
  • Engage clients regularly through digital and remote channels including calls, virtual meetings, webinars, and email.
  • Deliver professional financial advisory and promote a full range of banking and wealth products, including PL, CASA, and investment solutions.

Client Engagement and Growth

  • Conduct deep engagement meetings and analytics-backed conversations with clients.
  • Develop comprehensive account plans for at least 20% of the client base to drive relationship depth and cross-sell opportunities.
  • Conduct quarterly virtual advisory meetings to meet clients’ evolving financial needs.
  • Collaborate with product specialists to provide tailored financial solutions.
  • Refer servicing activities to Client Service Managers for efficient fulfillment and support.

Client Acquisition

  • Acquire new clients primarily through referrals and professional networks.
  • Clearly explain banking propositions, onboarding requirements, and product offerings to prospective clients.
  • Set up anchor products, initiate cross-sell activities, and ensure clients are onboarded smoothly.
  • Educate new clients on digital banking channels, ATMs, and the Client Centre for seamless service access.

Regulatory & Business Conduct

  • Uphold the highest standards of ethics and conduct as per the Group’s Values and Code of Conduct.
  • Ensure strict compliance with all regulatory requirements, policies, and internal governance standards.
  • Identify, escalate, and mitigate risks and compliance issues effectively.
  • Promote a culture of accountability, fairness, and integrity in all client interactions.

Qualifications

  • CISI Level 2 Certification
