Role Overview:
We are looking for a detail-oriented and motivated Tax Associate to join our Group Finance team.
You will work closely with the Group Tax Manager responsible for Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania, and cooperate with finance and legal teams across Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, and the Baltic states – Latvia and Lithuania.

Key Responsibilities:
- Review tax computations and perform internal tax reviews to ensure accuracy and compliance with local and international tax requirements.
- Assist during financial audits by providing necessary tax information, reconciliations, and supporting documentation.
- Support the preparation and drafting of Transfer Pricing documentation in accordance with OECD and local regulations.
- Follow and analyze proposed tax-related laws and regulatory changes, assessing their potential impact on the Group’s entities.
- Monitor and summarize recent tax-related court cases, preparing insights and recommendations for internal stakeholders.
- Prepare and deliver information required by group creditors, including tax-related data, financial ratios, and compliance confirmations, ensuring accuracy, transparency, and timely submission.
- Collaborate with finance and legal teams across multiple countries (Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Latvia, and Lithuania) to ensure consistency and accuracy in tax and financial reporting.
- Assist in the preparation and submission of corporate income tax, VAT, and other indirect tax returns as required.
- Support communication and coordination with external tax advisors and authorities.
What you will need:
Skills & Competencies
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
- 3 years of experience in tax or audit (experience in an international environment or Big 4 firm is an advantage).
- Good understanding of direct and indirect taxation, including transfer pricing principles.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
- Intermediate Excel skills, including use of PivotTables, VLOOKUP, and other key functions for data analysis.
- Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
- Proactive, organized, and comfortable working with teams across different countries.
