Our client, who specializes in warehousing, logistics, and distribution of goods and services, is seeking a highly skilled Credit Controller who will be responsible for developing and implementing credit strategies that support profitable growth, safeguard company assets, and ensure timely cash collection.

This role is a one-year contract, renewable upon satisfactory performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a company-wide credit management strategy aligned with business and financial objectives.
  • Lead credit vetting, approval, and monitoring of customers across all trade channels.
  • Oversee the entire receivables function, ensuring collections are timely and within agreed credit terms.
  • Manage customer accounts, analyze payment trends, and mitigate credit risks through proactive interventions.
  • Drive continuous improvement in credit policies, systems, and procedures to enhance control and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with Sales and Finance teams to balance growth opportunities with prudent credit exposure.
  • Provide accurate and timely credit reports, debtor aging analyses, and cash flow forecasts to senior management.
  • Lead, mentor, and evaluate the credit control team to deliver on performance and compliance objectives.
  • Ensure adherence to company credit policy, internal controls, and relevant legal or regulatory frameworks.
  • Manage relationships with customers, legal counsel, auditors, and credit reference bureaus for effective debt recovery.

Skills and Qualifications Required.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or equivalent
  • CPA- K or ACCA Qualifications required.
  • Excellent client relationship and communication skills
  • Proficiency in SAP accounting software.
  • Strong analytical, management, and problem-solving skills
  • High level of numeracy and attention to detail
  • High level of Integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism
