About the Role
The Community Liaison Office (CLO) Coordinator develops and manages programs tailored to the needs of the embassy community. The position plays a critical role in enhancing morale, strengthening community engagement, and supporting the well-being of employees and family members serving overseas.
The CLO designs long-range program plans and conducts periodic evaluations and surveys to ensure effectiveness and alignment with community needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and manage morale-enhancing programs based on post demographics
- Conduct formal and informal surveys to assess community needs
- Develop long-range plans to maintain and improve community morale
- Coordinate employment, education, crisis management, and security liaison activities
- Ensure compliance with Department of State regulations and host-country laws
- Support overall productivity, retention, and well-being of mission employees and families
Minimum Requirements
Education
- Completion of Secondary School is required
Experience
- Minimum five years of professional work experience
- At least six months of supervisory experience
Job Knowledge
- Knowledge of Department of State regulations, programs, and policies
- Familiarity with host-country laws, practices, and cultural norms
- Understanding of employment liaison, education liaison, crisis management, and security liaison functions
Language
- English: Level III (Good Working Knowledge) – Speaking, Reading, Writing
Skills & Abilities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
- Ability to draft and edit correspondence and publications
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
- Organizational and leadership capabilities
