About The Role
The Tax Accountant will ensure management of all tax matters by ensuring business compliance and adherence to tax regulations and governance standards within the East African region.
Key responsibilities:-
- Providing tax advice and guidance on all tax matters with regards to government regulation and applicable law.
- Optimization of tax efficiencies and mitigation of tax exposures within the control’s environment.
- Provide timely advisory on impending legislative changes and their impact to the business.
- Maintain effective control procedures over all aspects of the tax process.
- Ensure timely and accurate submission of all tax returns.
- Manage and coordinate tax audits.
- Maintain tax balances on the general ledger.
- Conduct to tax reviews and assessments to identify areas of improvement.
- Enhance communication on tax matters and conduct internal training where appropriate.
Requirements:-
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce, Economics, Law (LLB) or c any other related field.
- CPA (K) or ACCA certification
- At least 5 years’ experience in a similar role preferably in the Oil & Gas industry.
- Thorough knowledge of tax accounting procedures and principles.
- Strong knowledge of Kenyan tax laws; exposure to tax frameworks is an added
- Proficiency in report writing.
- Strong analytical skills.
- High attention to detail with the ability to meet strict deadlines.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
