Java House is looking for a motivated Learning and Development Intern to support training coordination, employee engagement initiatives, and talent development programs within the organization.
Job Description
Duties and Responsibilities
- Scheduling training sessions.
- Communicate information about training events in a timely and professional manner to ensure the business is kept up to date with learning and development activities.
- Assist in ensuring the training material is up to date.
- Keeping track of employees’ training records and maintaining the Learning & Development Matrix.
- Assist in conducting training evaluations before and after to determine the effectiveness of all development programs.
- Play an active role in supporting the analysis, action planning, and monitoring of the Employee Engagement Survey.
- Assist with the development of specific action plans to address issues and concerns identified in the Employee Engagement Survey through focus groups.
- Assist in identifying training needs by working with relevant leaders and TOTs within Java House and deliver learning solutions.
- Maintain accurate data on all development initiatives (PDP data, TNA documents, training schedules, training calendars, and attendance data).
- Assist in promoting positive employee relations through an environment that encourages open communication, trust, mutual respect, and fun.
- Keep up to date with developments in Learning & Development by reading relevant resources, attending meetings and courses, and building professional relationships.

Talent Management (PDP Management)
- Coordinate Personal Development Plan (PDP) review meetings to capture skill gaps.
- Support development and implementation of learning interventions (in-house or external).
- Plan and support the execution of the annual talent review exercise.
Staff Induction / Onboarding
- Assist in onboarding new staff when required.
- Follow up on probation reviews (30, 60, and 90 days) according to due dates.
- Ensure accuracy of information in the Learning & Development systems for new employees.
Employee Engagement
- Support initiatives that drive employee engagement and high performance.
- Assist in conducting awareness sessions about Java House’s purpose, vision, mission, and values.
- Ensure departments develop and implement action plans from engagement feedback.
- Facilitate employee communication during focus groups.
- Participate in culture change initiatives.
