About the position
Alliance is seeking to recruit an ASSISTANT I -ACCOUNTS to provide support to the finance Office.
Key Responsibilities
- Support in the registration of NBO transactions.
- Support in payment processing ensuring all payments are adequately supported, authorized, and registered into the system on a timely basis.
- Support in timely reconciliation of month end cash and bank balances between cashbooks/petty cash and banks statements.
- Assist in processing travel advance requests vouchers and legalizations from staff on completion of activities and any necessary communications/follow up required to close staff accounts.
- Support in the management and reconciliation of supplier accounts.
- Support in the management of mileage recovery journals.
- Assist during month end processes as may be assigned.
- Support Treasury unit as may be assigned.
- Filing management, document consolidation and scanning, printing & filing of documents in the digital archiving platform and Storeroom as appropriate.
- Assist in the management of the digital archiving platform and maintaining month end reconciliation of documents uploaded versus actual transactions for the month.
- Provide support in both external and internal audit processes.
- Complete and update weekly tracker/control files and follow up as necessary.
- Any other tasks as may be assigned.
Requirements
Qualifications and requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in economics, accounting, finance and related fields.
- At least two (2) years of relevant work experience in finance units in process-oriented / transactional activities preferably gained in an international organization.
- Proficiency in relevant software packages (Microsoft Office Suite).
- Knowledge of or experience with financial management software.
- Full professional proficiency of the English language, both written and spoken
- Solid interpersonal, communications and teamwork skills; courtesy and tact, and the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with people of different cultural and national backgrounds.
- Well-developed skills in personal organization, filing and priority setting, problem solving and accuracy.
- Strong client orientation and service approach
- Sound judgment and initiative; ability to work independently within the assigned area
- Working knowledge of other languages.
