Role Overview

The Consultant, Business Development Group Life & Medical Insurance will be responsible for driving business growth, managing client relationships, and ensuring excellent service delivery for group life and medical insurance portfolios. The role combines sales, account management, and client support to enhance customer satisfaction and retention.

Key Responsibilities

  • Business Development
    Identify and pursue new business opportunities for group life and medical insurance products, including corporate clients, SMEs, and affinity groups.
  • Client Relationship Management
    Build and maintain strong relationships with existing clients, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction and retention.
  • Product Advisory & Sales Support
    Advise clients on suitable group life and medical insurance solutions, prepare proposals, and support negotiations to close deals.
  • Policy Administration & Servicing
    Coordinate onboarding of new clients, policy renewals, endorsements, and ensure accurate documentation and timely service delivery.
  • Claims & Client Support Coordination
    Act as a liaison between clients and internal claims teams to ensure smooth, timely, and transparent claims processing.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Insurance, Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field
  • Professional insurance qualification (e.g., AIIK, ACII) is an added advantage
  • 2–5 years of relevant experience in insurance business development, client servicing, or account management (preferably in group life and medical insurance)
  • Proven track record in sales and client relationship management
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Good understanding of insurance products, especially medical and group life policies
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM systems
  • High level of professionalism, integrity, and customer focus
  • Preference for candidates currently residing in Mombasa or willing to relocate
