Position Details

• Job Title: Debt Recovery Officer (3 Posts)

• Reporting To: Senior Credit Officer
• Location: Nairobi, Kenya
• Grade: Six

• Retainer: KES 31,500

Job Purpose

The incumbent will be responsible for notifying members with loans in arrears (substandard, doubtful, and loss categories), following up on repayments, and advising members on appropriate loan repayment modes.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Analyze monthly lists of members in arrears based on missed instalments.
• Communicate to members in arrears informing them of the outstanding amounts.
• Conduct follow-ups via phone calls and SMS.
• Work with members to agree on payment plans and send reminders before agreed due dates.
• Answer queries and provide advisory support to members.
• Refer restructuring cases to the Credit Officer.
• Prepare monthly reports including:
  • Collections received
  • Follow-ups conducted
  • Commitment dates agreed upon

Qualifications & Experience

• Minimum KCSE C Plain
• Diploma in Co-operative Management, Business Administration, or equivalent qualification
• Knowledge of computerized accounting systems
• At least Two (2) years’ work experience

Performance & Commission Structure

• The collection allocation changes monthly as arrears fluctuate.
• Target collection is 100%.
• Commission is paid over and above the agreed minimum collection on the assigned allocation.
