Key Responsibilities:
Role:
Land Preparation and Replanting
- Plan and execute land preparation activities, including plowing, tilling, and soil conditioning.
- Supervise and ensure timely and effective replanting processes to maximize field productivity.
- Closely monitor soil health and liaise with agronomy for improvements
Events Planning
- In coordination with the management, Organize and effectively coordinate all operational aspects for key floral events such as Valentine’s Day, Mother’s Day, and International Women’s Day.
- Coordinate with the marketing team to promote events and increase sales.
- Ensure the farm is well-prepared for event-specific demands and activities.
Roses Trial Management and Budwood Management
- Plan and oversee rose trial programs to test new varieties and cultivation techniques.
- Monitor the performance of different rose varieties and report findings to the farm director.
- Collaborate with agronomists and plant breeders to improve crop yields and quality.
- Ensure timely cutting, arrangement, and preparation of budwood for propagation in accordance with set quality standards.
- Coordinate with the Propagation Department on collection schedules, ensuring smooth transfer of material without delays
- Maintain accurate records of budwood harvested, delivered, and received.
Flower Transportation
- Coordinate the transportation of flowers from greenhouses to the packhouse.
- Ensure that flowers are handled with care to prevent damage during transit.
- Optimize transportation routes and schedules to meet delivery deadlines.
Composting Management
- Oversee the composting process, ensuring organic waste is efficiently converted into nutrient-rich compost.
- Manage the distribution and application of compost to improve soil fertility.
Stores Management
- Supervise the issuance, receipt, and tracking of field supplies, tools, and inputs.
- Monitor stock levels, ensure timely requisition, and prevent stock-outs or overstocking.
- Ensure adherence to inventory management systems and standards.
Asset and Equipment Ownership
- Responsible for proper management of all the tools and equipment within your jurisdictions
- Maintain an inventory of all assets and equipment within your jurisdictions.
- Ensure Implementation of preventive maintenance schedules to ensure operational readiness and longevity of assets.
- Proactively coordinate for the requisitions of appropriate PPEs, tools and equipment in order to optimize your sections operations.
Labor Management and workforce training
- Oversee daily labor deployment and ensure optimal workforce utilization.
- Identify training needs and implement programs to enhance staff skills and performance.
- Foster a productive work culture that aligns with operational goals.
- Ensure Juniors are Compliant to Policies/Procedures and work instructions
- To handle disciplinary/grievance cases to you arising from juniors and liaise with Human Resource Department and where possible resolve them amicably while keeping the Human Resource Department informed
Planning and Coordination
- Develop and implement operational plans in alignment with farm goals.
- Coordinate with other departments to ensure seamless field-to-packhouse integration.
- Monitor Team performance Record and report progress to the Farm manager regularly.
- Ensure Health and Safety of Employees in the Department
- Ensure that the Department always has a Functional Accessible First Aid Boxes near their Workplace
Plastic management
- Install new greenhouse plastics in line with company specifications and agronomy requirements
- Ensure correct fitting, stretching, and sealing of plastics to avoid leaks, sagging, or damage
- Replace torn, damaged, or worn-out plastics promptly.
- Maintain safety standards during installation, ensuring use of proper tools and PPE.
- Work closely with supervisors to plan installation schedules in line with crop cycles
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Achieve 100% compliance to events planning and schedules
- 100% labor utilization (not more than 2.5% OT, all planned leaves finished, clocking in time)
- Timely transportation and delivery of flowers to the packhouse with not more than 1% mechanical damage
- Achieve >85% implementation of preventative maintenance schedule and ensure <3% downtime due to equipment failure.
- Maximum of 2% deviation from the Operations Budget set
- Staff Training and Retention within your Department/Section. Achieve 85% workforce training and retention score/quarter.
Reporting Metrics
- Inventory report indicating stock levels, shortages and requisitions – Monthly
- Land preparation and replanting report – Monthly
- Weekly CARs Report with root cause and action plan – Weekly
- Monthly Labor and Turnover report – Monthly

Job Specification
- Graduate in Horticulture, floriculture, Agriculture
- 5-10 years’ experience in Flower Farm operation in the same capacity
- Excellent leadership and Management skills
- Analytical mindset, excellent interpersonal and communication skills and team player facilitating cross-functional collaboration
