FIREFIGHTER TRAINEE – ONE HUNDRED (100) VACANCIES

Job Purpose
The job holder will be responsible for providing rescue and firefighting services to passengers, other airport users, and property.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Conducting fire and rescue services by firefighting in crashed aircraft and reported fire outbreaks in buildings to save life and property.
- Responding to aircraft emergencies as per the Airport Services Manual.
- Inspecting fire engines, appliances, and equipment to ensure serviceability.
- Cleaning and maintaining appliances and equipment at the fire station to ensure they are in good working order.
- Inspecting runways, taxiways, and aprons for fuel spillage and Foreign Object Debris (FOD), ensuring they are clean and safe.
- Inspecting the airport boundary and topography to ensure accessibility.
- Operating pumps and driving fire engines and vehicles when required.
- Participating in fire drills as required.
Key Qualifications and Experience
- Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) Grade C (Plain) and KCSE Grade C– (Minus) for candidates from Minority Groups, Marginalised Communities, and Persons Living with Disabilities (PWDs).
- Basic Fire Training from the National Youth Service (NYS) or a recognized institution will be an added advantage.
- Candidates with Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) certification will have an added advantage.
- Twenty-six (26) years (Born on or after 1st January 1999) and not more than 28 years (Born on or after 1st January 1997) for candidates from Minority Groups, Marginalised Communities, and Persons Living with Disabilities (PWDs).

Terms and Conditions of Service
The appointment will be on contract for an initial one (1) year on-the-job training and thereafter transition to Permanent and Pensionable terms, subject to successful completion of the one-year on-the-job training.

- Clearance from the Ethics & Anti-Corruption Authority (EACC)
- Report from an approved Credit Reference Bureau (CRB)
The EACC self-declaration form must indicate the respective position being applied for.
