Key Responsibilities:
- Execute weekly planting programs and ensure proper crop establishment.
- Maintain clean, weed-free fields and oversee crop support operations (coiling, tucking, topping, etc.).
- Supervise irrigation, nutrition programs, and pest/disease management.
- Plan and allocate labor efficiently; participate in accurate harvest forecasting.
- Ensure adherence to production, quality, and operational standards.
- Key Performance Indicators:
- Achievement of agreed production targets.
- Quality of produce supplied to packhouses (minimum 65% Class 1/PO standard).
- Accuracy of harvest predictions (target margin of error ≤ 15%).
- Section and crop cleanliness standards.
- Timely and high-quality execution of cultural operations (weeding, coiling, tucking, topping).
- Efficient irrigation and minimal water wastage.
- Effective pest and disease management.
- Proper implementation of plant nutrition programs.
Qualifications and Key Competence:
- Diploma or Degree in Horticulture, Agronomy, Crop Science, or related field.
- 5+ years in commercial vegetable production; 2+ years in a supervisory role.
- Strong technical knowledge of vegetable crops, irrigation, and IPM.
- Proven leadership, planning, and analytical skills.
- Results driven with excellent communication and problem-solving ability
