As a diplomatic advisor, change champion, and employee advocate, the HRBP balances organizational goals with people needs, supports leaders to make sound and fair people decisions, and proactively addresses systemic people challenges. The role requires strong judgment, emotional intelligence, and the ability to influence without authority.

The HRBP must be comfortable navigating complexity, engaging diverse stakeholders, and representing the People & Culture function with professionalism, empathy, and business acumen.

  • Maintain a strong on-the-ground presence across branches, building credibility with managers and teams through visibility, consistency, and real-time support.
  • Partner with managers to strengthen leadership capability, accountability, and performance culture, coaching them to handle people matters confidently and fairly.
  • Translate business and operational priorities into clear people strategies, using data and frontline insights to drive informed decision-making.
  • Lead and support the performance management lifecycle, ensuring clarity of expectations, fairness, and sustained improvement across teams.
  • Provide sound judgment and guidance on employee relations, addressing issues with empathy, professionalism, and alignment to policy and labour standards.
  • Drive employee engagement and culture initiatives, leveraging eNPS and branch-level insights to deliver meaningful, practical improvements.
  • Act as a change partner, supporting leaders and teams through growth, transitions, and evolving ways of working.
  • Champion and embed Penda’s values and leadership standards through everyday actions, influence, and coaching.

You will be suitable for this role if you:

  • Are a business-oriented HR professional who enjoys partnering closely with managers to solve real people challenges.
  • Thrive in visible, people-facing environments, and are comfortable spending time in branches engaging directly with teams.
  • Bring strong judgment, emotional intelligence, and diplomacy when handling complex or sensitive people matters.
  • Are confident using people data and insights to inform decisions, influence leaders, and drive improvement.

Must Have

  • 4–6 years’ experience as an HR Generalist, with at least 2 years in a Human Resource Business Partner role.
  • Proven experience supporting managers in complex, multi-site operational environments.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • CHRP certification and active membership with the Institute of Human Resource Management (IHRM).
  • Strong understanding of employee relations, performance management, and people partnering within a structured organization.

Nice to Have:

  • Experience within the healthcare or service-oriented sector.
  • Exposure to large, distributed teams and frontline-heavy operations.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence without authority in matrixed environments.
