Human Resource Officer
The National Council of Churches of Kenya (NCCK), an umbrella organization for Protestant Churches and Christian Organizations registered in Kenya, is seeking to recruit a highly skilled, experienced, and results-oriented professional. Job Purpose: The Human Resource Officer will support generalist HR functions while actively safeguarding the organization’s people and practices.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Support recruitment activities by participating in candidate sourcing, conducting interviews, and facilitating onboarding processes.
- Administer and maintain the Human Resource Management Information System (HRMIS), ensuring data accuracy and producing reports that inform HR planning and decisions.
- Assist in executing performance management systems, including performance appraisals, and collaborate with supervisors to monitor and improve staff productivity.
- Support the delivery and monitoring of staff welfare programs, including wellness activities, employee assistance services, and benefit schemes that promote well-being.
- Compile and interpret HR metrics such as staff turnover, absenteeism, training effectiveness, and workforce composition to support strategic initiatives.
- Support payroll administration by verifying employee data and ensuring timely and accurate salary disbursement in accordance with statutory requirements.
- Ensure organizational compliance with employment laws by staying informed of legal updates, reviewing internal practices, and advising on necessary adjustments.
- Support the Management of staff contracts by preparing, updating, and tracking employment agreements, ensuring terms align with organizational policies and legal requirements.
- Apply and revise HR policies consistently, while ensuring full compliance with Kenyan employment legislation and internal governance standards.
- Champion a safe and ethical workplace by reinforcing safeguarding measures and promoting respectful conduct across all levels of the organization.
Key Qualifications / Skills / Competencies / Experience Required
- A university degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, or a closely related discipline.
- Possession of a Higher National Diploma in HR or a CHRP certification.
- At least three (3) years of experience in a broad-based human resources role.
- Proficiency in HRIS systems, with familiarity in Microsoft Dynamics 365, Business Central, is considered an asset.
- Solid understanding of Kenyan employment legislation and established HR practices.

- Demonstrated capacity to manage confidential issues with professionalism and integrity.
