The Tharaka Nithi County Public Service Board (CPSB) is a body corporate established under Section 57 of the County Governments Act, 2012 pursuant to Article 235 of the Constitution of Kenya, 2010. Section 59 outlines the functions of the CPSB, among them: “appoint persons to hold or act in offices of the county public service including in the Boards of cities and urban areas within the county and confirm appointments.”
The Board invites applications from qualified candidates to fill thirty (30) external positions on permanent and pensionable terms in the Department of Medical Services.
1. Registered Nurse [3], Job Group “H” – Twenty-Six (26) Posts
Requirements for Appointment
- Be a Kenyan citizen
- Diploma in Community Health Nursing (KRCHN) from a recognized institution
- Registered by the Nursing Council of Kenya
- Valid Practicing License from the Nursing Council of Kenya
- Computer literate
Duties and Responsibilities
- Offering nursing services depending on level of deployment
- Guiding and counseling patients, clients and staff
- Referring patients and clients to appropriate facilities
- Coaching and mentoring students on attachment
- Organizing health management teams and convening health management committee meetings
- Collecting and compiling data for research on nursing services
- Any other duty assigned by the supervisor
2. Registered Clinical Officers, Job Group “J” – Four (4) Posts
Requirements for Appointment
- Be a Kenyan citizen
- Diploma in Clinical Medicine and Surgery or Clinical Medicine and Community Health from a recognized institution
- Registered by the Clinical Officers’ Council
- Valid Practicing License from the Clinical Officers’ Council
- Computer literate
Duties and Responsibilities
- Taking history, examining, diagnosing and treating common ailments in outpatient or inpatient settings
- Guiding and counseling patients, clients and staff
- Referring patients and clients appropriately
- Assessing, preparing and presenting medical-legal reports
- Coaching and mentoring students on attachment
- Carrying out surgical procedures as per training and skills
- Organizing health management teams and convening health management committee meetings
- Collecting and compiling data for research on clinical services
- Any other duty assigned by the supervisor
Integrity Clearance
Successful applicants must obtain clearance from:
- Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA)
- Credit Reference Bureau (CRB)
- Higher Education Loans Board (HELB)
- Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC)
- Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI)
- Commission for University Education (CUE) – for applicants with foreign degrees
