Job Summary
The Marketing & Communication Specialist (Business Development) – Component V Coordinator will lead the implementation of Component V of the Enhancement of Accreditation Programme in Kenya Project. The role is responsible for developing and rolling out marketing and communication strategies, driving business development initiatives, and positioning KENAS as the preferred accreditation body in Kenya and the East African region.
Duties and Responsibilities
The duties and responsibilities of the selected candidate will entail:
- Lead the implementation of Component V of the Enhancement of Accreditation Programme in Kenya Project, focusing on marketing, communication, and business development.
- Developing and analysing the implementation of policies, strategies and guidelines for business development and partnership;
- Developing and implementing strategies to increase sales, brand awareness and provide guidance on application accreditation requirements to increase client numbers;
- Developing and implementing information on market trends, mapping potential clients and convert new clients to accreditation services;
- Developing and monitoring information on the review of Service’s business development plan;
- Leading sales and marketing of accreditation services;
- Identifying and pursuing new business opportunities to expand the customer base;
- Implementing the organization’s marketing strategy;
- Implementing and maintaining memoranda of understanding, developing project proposals, cooperation agreements and joint programs with government ministries, regulatory agencies, international accreditation networks, development partners, academic and research institutions;
- Analysing data trends and establishing partnerships and networks with national, regional, development partners and international organizations;
- Developing and managing project proposals and memoranda of understanding, collaborations and project partnerships;
- Collating information and presenting proposals, quotations and contract documentation;
- Developing and tracking Customer relationship management database and customer retention mechanisms;
- Developing and implementing initiatives for client retention and customer relationship management;
- Preparing and executing promotional campaigns, events, awareness sessions and one-on-one engagements; and
- Collating industry trends, competitor conformity assessment activities and accreditation demand across sectors.
Academic and Professional Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration/Management, Commerce (Marketing Option, Economics, Marketing, Project Management or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
- A master’s degree in a relevant field is an added advantage
- At least 4 years of experience in Business Development and Marketing.
- Membership to a relevant professional body or its equivalent in good standing.
- Proficiency in Computer applications
- Fulfil the requirements of Chapter Six (6) of the Constitution
