Maua Customer Development Representative
As a Maua Customer Development Representative at Mars Wrigley Kenya, you will play a vital role in empowering underprivileged youth by recruiting and training micro-entrepreneurs in hard-to-reach communities. You will coordinate the development of social, human, and financial capital within a diverse ecosystem of stakeholders, advocate Mars’ Five Principles, and support the growth of entrepreneurial activities that drive sustainable livelihoods.
What are we looking for?
- Ideally, you’ll have a minimum of 5 years’ experience managing livelihood improvement projects within the private sector or non-governmental organizations, with a passion for economic growth and improving quality of life for underserved populations.
- You should hold a university degree or equivalent, preferably in Entrepreneurship, Sustainability, or Business Management.
- Experience in distribution, community outreach, and people management is essential.
- Strong oral and written communication skills, including working knowledge of Kiswahili, are a must.
- You’ll be comfortable working in agile, startup-like environments and able to meet the physical demands of driving to remote areas and engaging with underserved populations.
What would be your key responsibilities?
- Recruit and retain up lifters, hawkers, and stock points by identifying, training, and supporting entrepreneurs to enhance their sales and business skills.
- Lead partner recruitment and manage agreements to support entrepreneur growth.
- Conduct training needs assessments and facilitate capacity-building programs such as the MAUA Academy.
- Manage local operations by liaising with distributors and sales teams to ensure stock availability and resolve operational issues.
- Monitor and report on recruitment, training, market developments, and entrepreneur performance.
- Organize monthly share-out sessions and motivational events for entrepreneurs.
- Represent Maua Business in local events, forums, and stakeholder meetings.
