Job Purpose

The Officer – Business Applications is responsible for maintaining and supporting the bank’s business applications. The role ensures optimal system performance, application availability, and integration while addressing business needs and regulatory requirements. The incumbent will work closely with IT, business units, and vendors to drive system enhancements and efficient operations.

Key Responsibilities

End of Cycle Processes Support – 40%

  • Execute Core Banking End of Cycle (EOD, EOM, EOY) processes as required.
  • Execute Vision BI Reporting End of Cycle (EOD, EOM, EOY) processes.
  • Extract and share required business reports to various business units. 
  • Raise and track to closure, End of Cycle related tickets and incidents.
  • Prepare, revise and maintain End of Cycle Procedures and Checklist.
  • Analyze and recommend End of Cycle Improvement areas.
  • Execute End of Cycle processes in mock and test environments as part of testing activities.

Application Management & Support – 40%

  • Ensure 24/7 availability and optimal performance of business applications.
  • Troubleshoot, analyze, and resolve system issues in coordination with internal teams and vendors.
  • Support system upgrades, patches, and testing for new features or modules.
  • Assess business needs and ensure applications align with operational and regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct system parameterization, including new product setups and configuration updates.
  • Coordinate system testing, implementation, and go-live activities. 
  • Serve as a liaison between IT, business units, and vendors for application-related matters.
  • Provide necessary training and support to end-users on system functionalities.
  • Work on seamless integration between business applications.
  • Provide input on system improvements and automation initiatives.
  • Maintain proper documentation, including SOPs, reports, and system logs.

Security & Compliance – 20%

  • Ensure adherence to IT security policies and regulatory standards.
  • Participate in Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity Planning (DRP/BCP) exercises.
  • Follow up on risk review and audit findings and implement corrective actions.

Education, Knowledge, skills and Experience required for this Role

  • Bachelor degree in Business related field. Degree in IT/MIS is an added advantage.
  • Experience in supporting Business Applications is an added advantage.
  • Good querying and scripting skills.
  • Good knowledge of financial/accounting principles and banking operations.
  • Fluency in spoken and written English.
  • Good integrity, positive attitude, helpful, high commitment, competence, and motivation.
  • Proficiency in SQL, Oracle DB and database management
  • Writing skills: Ability to efficiently produce concise, organized reports.
  • Knowledge, insight, and understanding of business concepts, tools, and processes that are needed for making sound decisions in the context of the company’s business; ability to apply this knowledge appropriately to diverse situations.
