Location: Roo Bay Farm, Homabay

We are seeking a Processing Manager to lead strategic and daily fish processing operations at Victory Farms. As the manager you will oversee the processing team in four key areas: Input Control, Fish Processing, Output Control, and Ice Management. This role drives efficiency, food safety compliance, process improvements, KPI monitoring, and cross-team coordination while fostering a culture of safety and sustainability.

Roles & Responsibilities:

Process Management & Control

  • Developing and implementing process solutions to improve operational efficiency.
  • Developing process workflows and design in compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with team members and communicate effectively with supervisors.
  • Planning and organizing production schedules
  • Ensure scaling, slicing, gutting, cleaning, sorting, precooling and output into our Farm Logistics Centre is done to standard.
  • Operate and maintain processing equipment and machinery.
  • Pack and label processed fish for shipping.
  • Overseeing Ice Plant activities.

Health & Quality Control.

  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Inspect fish for quality and remove any defects.
  • Determining quality control standards during input and output.
  • Ensuring that health and safety regulations are met.
  • Ensuring Quality and Hygiene Standards are maintained.
  • Ensuring health, safety and environmental compliance and improvements.

Leadership & People Management

  • Organizing relevant training sessions and upskilling.
  • Providing leadership for relevant technical and operational teams.
  • Liaising with Commercial operations on demand and supply of processed product specifications.
  • Working cohesively with site leadership team to deliver sites’ balanced business plan to achieve productivity.

Budgeting & Cost Control.

  • Participate in budget formulation for departmental alignment with overall company objective.
  • Meet daily processing targets.
  • Assessing processing and resource requirements
  • Ensuring the highest processing standards are maintained.

Reporting

  • Prepare and share relevant reports to support decision making.

Requirements

  • Education: A degree in in Production Management, Operations Management or Food technology, MSc is a plus or a related field is required. A Masters degree, professional certification or OSH training is an added advantage
  • Processing Experience: 5-7 years of experience managing a food processing/production facility
  • Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead, motivate, and manage a high-performing processing team.
  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present to senior management and external stakeholders.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Advanced ability to identify complex issues, develop strategic solutions, and execute them effectively.
  • Organizational Skills: Exceptional ability to manage multiple priorities and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
