Project Procurement & Logistics Officer

Role overview

The Project Procurement & Logistics Officer will support project procurement activities and supply-chain operations, ensuring timely, transparent and cost-effective procurement in line with Agriterra policies and donor regulations. The role manages procurement documentation, vendor relationships and coordination with finance and project teams.

Key responsibilities

  • Support development and execution of annual procurement and inventory plans.
  • Prepare RFQs, ITBs and RFPs, and manage tender processes.
  • Research, evaluate and pre-qualify suppliers based on quality, price, delivery and reliability.
  • Negotiate contracts and terms to secure favourable deals.
  • Maintain complete, audit-ready procurement and inventory files.
  • Track procurement requests and ensure timely delivery of goods and services.
  • Ensure procurement compliance with Agriterra policies, donor guidelines and local laws.
  • Liaise with Finance for payment coordination.
  • Provide regular procurement and inventory reports to management and project teams.

Qualifications & skills

  • Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration or related field.
  • Minimum 3 years’ procurement experience, preferably with NGOs or donor-funded agricultural programmes.
  • Familiarity with donor procurement guidelines (e.g., USAID, EU, DFID, World Bank).
  • Professional certification (CIPS or similar) is a strong asset.
  • Proficiency in Excel and procurement software/tools.
  • High integrity, accountability and attention to detail.
  • Fluency in English (written and spoken); additional languages an advantage.
