Quality Assurance & Regulatory Manager
QUALITY ASSURANCE & REGULATORY MANAGER
We are seeking a seasoned professional to lead the Quality Assurance function within our manufacturing division.
Reporting directly to the Manufacturing Director, the Quality Assurance Manager is responsible for ensuring that all our products meet the highest standards of quality, safety, and regulatory compliance while driving continuous improvement. This position is located in Nairobi and may require periodic travel to the manufacturing sites.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain Quality Management Systems (QMS) in line with ISO standards and regulatory requirements.
- Champion culture change initiatives to position the company as the Home of Quality, fostering a mindset of excellence across all teams.
- Oversee quality assurance protocols throughout the manufacturing process from raw materials all through to finished products.
- Provide technical guidance and perform critical reviews on quality assurance related concerns.
- Ensure compliance with dispersed manufacturing quality management protocols, coordinating quality standards across multiple production sites.
- Collaborate with Research & Development teams to ensure new product formulations meet quality and regulatory standards.
- Lead internal and external audits, ensuring compliance with GMP, HACCP, and relevant industry and country specific certifications.
- Drive continuous quality improvement initiatives, including root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA).
- Manage supplier quality programs and raw material evaluations.
- Prepare and present quality performance reports to senior management.
- Train and mentor QA teams to uphold best practices and regulatory compliance.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, Chemical Engineering, , or related fields. Masters degree qualification is desirable.
- 10+ years of managerial experience in Quality Assurance within FMCG, preferably in personal care and home care products.
- Working knowledge and experience in manufacturing operations, R&D within similar environment desirable.
- Proven experience in dispersed manufacturing quality management protocols.
- Strong knowledge of ISO 9001, GMP, HACCP, and related quality standards.
- Excellent leadership, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Familiarity with statistical process control (SPC) and quality improvement tools (e.g., Lean Six Sigma).
- Hands-on experience in Quality Management Systems (QMS.
- Experience in multi-site Manufacturing Quality Protocols a definite advantage
- In-depth knowledge of Regulatory Compliance (KEBS, NEMA, FDA standards) of various countries
- Supplier Quality Management skills.
- Proven ability to coach, mentor and grow teams.
