Reporting directly to the Sales Manager – Service Business & Modernization, we seek an energetic and enthusiastic Salesperson – Service Business to join our Nairobi, Kenya office. In this role, you will drive sales of annual recurring service contracts and modernization by converting leads into customers, improving sales flow efficiency, and meeting targets.
We are looking for somebody with a proven track record of being a go-getter who understands how to partner and collaborate with the business. We need someone who can influence with an analytical mindset, be results-driven, and have strong commercial acumen. This role requires the salesperson to build relationships and manage the accounts of existing customers and new customers through meetings and by retaining existing and building new business with them. He/she also manages and grows a portfolio by selling maintenance contracts and related digital services.

What will you do:
- Builds and grows customer relationships in their assigned area.
- Strengthens KONE’s position with customers or in their market.
- Shares leads and sales opportunities with the KONE sales team (e.g., cross-selling).
- Keeps customers happy and works with the team to fix complaints.
- Updates and manages customer and contact details.
- Finds new sales opportunities beyond existing customers.
- Manages requests for quotes (RFQs).
- Meets sales goals, including leads, orders, and contracts, while sticking to pricing targets.
- Ensures KONE’s solutions fit customer needs.
- Sets prices and discounts using approved tools and limits.
- Check that those contracts match the negotiation results.
- Tracks all sales activities, tasks, and visits (sales funnel).
- Keeps CRM reports accurate and on time.
- Collects info on the market and competitors.
- Helps finance with payment collection.
- Follows through on their personal sales plan.
Keys to success:
- A degree or higher Diploma in Electrical, Mechanical Engineering, or a Business-Related Course will be advantageous.
- A minimum of 2 – 5 years of technical experience in the elevator/escalator industry is preferred.
- Minimum 2 – 5 years of technical experience in construction, building materials, and/or the customer industry.
- Experience with/familiarity with solution-selling methodology.
- Experience with/ familiar with selling complex technology solutions.
- Highly motivated, goal-oriented, diligent, organized self-starter focusing on high-level customer service.
- Passion for sales, with a proven track record and strong customer focus.
- Fluency in English is a must.
- Valid driver’s licence.
- Travel in Kenya 30% of the time.
