Job Summary:
The Security Advisor supports the organisation’s Security Manager in the implementation of security plans, procedures, and programs, including but not limited to security staff management, mitigation measures execution, reporting, and incident response to ensure the safe conduct of operations in Nairobi and in all areas where the organisation is operating in the country.
The role includes supporting expatriates’ missions, conducting surveys, and performing administrative tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Contributes to the preparation of security plans, procedures, and operating instructions.
- Implements and monitors programs and procedures for Journey Management, coordinating drivers and organisation vehicles.
- Supports in managing contracts and relevant administration processes.
- Recommends active & passive security measures upgrades and improvements for organisation sites and oversees the project’s implementation.
- Monitors and coordinates security contractors on a regular basis.
- Supports the liaison with local and national security authorities.
- Collects information and data in order to assist in security reporting activities and risk assessments.
- Ensures constant monitoring, communication, and updates between the organisation’s head office in Nairobi and the facilities/operations spread throughout the country.
- Supervises security staff and guards, and performs other appropriate duties as assigned.
- Serves as staff support to security management and assists in conducting investigations.
- Assists in emergency and contingency planning.
- Acts ,if required as security representative on the field during crises, incident management, and emergency response.
- Ensures compliance with company policies and legal regulations.
- Assists with safety drills and protocols, ensuring all equipment and systems are functioning properly.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Basic ICT training or certification is an advantage.
- Previous experience in the Kenya National Police/Security Forces is a mandatory requirement.
- Familiarity with security systems, CCTV, and other related technology.
Skills:
- Basic ICT skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Office, email systems (Outlook), Teams, and security software.
- Strong observational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to respond to emergencies calmly and efficiently.
- Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Physical fitness to perform duties such as responding to emergencies.
