Senior Housekeeping Supervisor

Job Overview

Kwetu Nairobi is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Housekeeping Supervisor to support the management of the Housekeeping Department.

The successful candidate will help ensure the highest standards of cleanliness, presentation, and guest comfort throughout the hotel, while supporting the Executive Housekeeper in daily departmental operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the Executive Housekeeper in overseeing daily housekeeping operations, including guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces.
  • Supervise and coordinate housekeeping staff to ensure efficient workflow and high cleanliness standards.
  • Conduct regular inspections of guest rooms, corridors, and public areas to ensure compliance with hotel quality standards.
  • Ensure housekeeping supplies, linens, and amenities are properly stocked and managed.
  • Assist in staff scheduling, training, and performance supervision.
  • Support implementation and maintenance of health, safety, and hygiene standards.
  • Handle guest requests, feedback, and complaints professionally and promptly.
  • Monitor housekeeping equipment and coordinate maintenance when necessary.
  • Assist in maintaining departmental budgets, inventory, and cost control measures.
  • Ensure compliance with brand standards and operational procedures.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Diploma or Degree in Hospitality Management or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3–5 years’ housekeeping experience in a hotel environment, with at least 1–2 years in a supervisory role.
  • Strong knowledge of housekeeping operations, cleaning procedures, and quality standards.
  • Experience in a luxury or international hotel brand is an added advantage.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in hotel management systems is an added advantage.
