Job Summary
Standard Chartered Bank Kenya is seeking an experienced Senior Relationship Manager – Business Banking (Nakuru Branch) to join its dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for client origination, portfolio management, and revenue growth while ensuring compliance with risk and governance frameworks.
The Relationship Manager will work closely with the Client Service Manager (CSM) and Credit Analysts (CA) to provide exceptional service, manage risks, and maintain portfolio quality.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development
- Drive relationship deepening with high-value and high-potential business clients.
- Collaborate with Business Specialists to offer a full range of Business Clients (BC) products.
- Meet clients regularly and acquire new clients through referrals from existing ones.
- Monitor and maintain integrity of clients’ credit portfolios through proactive risk management.
Processes
- Engage proactively with business clients and identify opportunities for growth.
- Support onboarding of clients on Business Working Capital (BWC) propositions.
- Deliver on client-initiated requests and transactions while ensuring compliance with KYC/AML requirements.
- Provide training to clients on mobile and web banking platforms.
People & Talent
- Collaborate with Credit Analysts and Client Service Managers to ensure credit files are complete and up to date.
- Attend internal and external meetings, portfolio reviews, and consortium sessions.
- Provide regular feedback to management on service quality and client issues.
Risk Management
- Ensure adherence to operational and reputational risk management standards.
- Support anti-money laundering efforts by following “Know Your Customer” (KYC) and reporting principles.
- Maintain confidentiality and uphold compliance with all relevant policies.
Governance
- Uphold the Group Code of Conduct and ensure adherence to risk management frameworks.
- Promote ethical practices and regulatory compliance across all banking activities.
