About the Program
This immersive internship program offers masterclasses led by industry experts and thought leaders across a wide range of disciplines. Participants will have the opportunity to deepen their knowledge, develop practical skills, and network with professionals in their field. It is open to recent graduates or soon-to-be graduates in the following areas:
- Diplomacy
- Business, Marketing, and Commerce (B-Com)
- STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics)
- Fine Arts and Film
- Media Technology
- Finance and Accounting
- Law
- Medicine
Available Masterclasses
Applicants are invited to select one of the following masterclasses to focus on during the program:
- AI & Robotics
- Tech-Diplomacy
- Cyber Security
- Acting and Theatre
- Film and Documentary Production
- Financial Literacy and Investment (includes entrepreneurship).
- International Trade & Policy
Program Highlights
- Duration: 3 weeks.
- Dates: 4th to 22nd May and 5th to 23rd October 2026
- Locations: Hybrid Nairobi / Kitale / Malindi, Kenya.
- Masterclass: Virtual access to the masterclasses for candidates not located in Kenya.
- Format: In-person and virtual masterclasses, workshops, and networking sessions.
- Eligibility: Recent graduates or prospective graduates in any field.
- Interview and onboarding period: April and September 2026.
- Application deadlines: 30th March for May session; 30th August for October session
Interested candidates are invited to submit their applications to masterclass@yearofreturnafrica.com by deadlines indicated above. Applications should include:
- A cv/resumé highlighting your academic and professional background;
- A personal statement (max 500 words) explaining why you are interested in the program and your chosen masterclass;
- Any relevant portfolio or work samples (if applicable).
Successful applicants will be contacted for interviews and notified of next steps shortly thereafter.
