MAJOR FUNCTIONS

The Senior Specialist, Organizational Communications plays a key role in coordinating strategic communication initiatives that support internal alignment and engagement across the organization and the WWF Network. This role has a special focus on WWF International’s Strategic Plan and governance-related communications, optimizing internal communication tools and channels, and ensuring consistent, impactful messaging to key internal stakeholders, including governing bodies.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure WWF’s culture, values and key behaviours are promoted throughout the Network through stories and updates;
  • Champions a stronger culture of internal communications for WWF International and the network, by example and through expert guidance, advice, and support, in order to: increase internal engagement, foster a global WWF community with equal line of sight on achievements, successes, and lessons learned;
  • Produce, curate, gather, and disseminate relevant content, communications products, assets, and multimedia materials for the global network;
  • Coordinate strategic communication projects that support organizational priorities and governance processes;
  • Develop and manage communications tailored to governing bodies and other internal stakeholders such as the ombudsperson, ensuring clarity, consistency, and alignment with organizational goals;
  • Manage and maintain relevant internal communications channels and platforms, including identifying or recommending new and innovative tools and partnerships to address internal communications needs;
  • Maintain and manage the internal editorial calendar, ensuring timely delivery of content across all internal channels;
  • Collaborate with divisional colleagues to produce high-quality, audience-specific content for internal campaigns and initiatives;
  • Support Director, Organizational Communications with developing and optimizing WWF’s new global intranet for effectively delivering global strategic priorities such as Roadmap 2030;
  • Help optimize internal communication tools, channels, and processes to enhance engagement and streamline information flow;
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of internal communications, providing insights and recommendations for continuous improvement;
  • Serve as a key liaison between communications and governance teams to ensure alignment and transparency;
  • Produce and disseminate internal updates for key internal and external events and campaigns in the form of summaries, photos, and or videos;
  • Support the production and dissemination of regular communications products specifically designed for key WWF governing bodies;
  • Provides overall support to the Director, Organizational Communications.

PROFILE

Required qualifications:

  • At least five years’ relevant professional experience in communications, PR or internal communication;
  • Required skills and competencies:
  • Ability to deliver multiple simultaneous projects;
  • Articulate, creative, passionate, flexible and tenacious;
  • Absolute discretion, tact, diplomacy and negotiation skills;
  • Excellent written and spoken English – other languages an advantage;
  • Experience in human rights and environmental issues;
  • Experience with social and digital media;
  • Video production and editing skills an advantage;
  • Ability to work as part of a team in a multicultural environment;
