Job Description
Valley Hospital is a leading Level 4 healthcare facility in Nakuru City providing both inpatient and outpatient services. We are seeking to recruit a Nurse Administrator to support operational leadership within the Nursing Department and strengthen nursing governance across all units.
This is a key leadership role responsible for ensuring efficient nursing operations, enhancing patient care outcomes, and aligning nursing practices with the hospital’s commitment to quality, safety, and service excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Head of Nursing in strategic planning and execution of nursing services
- Oversee non-clinical nursing staff, including the Billing Nurse
- Coordinate community engagement activities in liaison with the Client Services department
- Prepare credentialing documents and support onboarding of doctors
- Participate in recruitment, training, and onboarding of new nurses
- Develop mentorship programs and career progression opportunities for nursing staff
- Maintain accurate documentation for compliance and accreditation reviews
- Participate in regular audits to ensure regulatory adherence and risk mitigation
- Monitor nursing department expenditures and ensure cost-effective resource utilization
- Oversee procurement and inventory management of nursing department medical supplies
- Coordinate training for student interns
- Participate in interdisciplinary meetings and hospital committees as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
- BSN/KRCHN from a recognized institution
- Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in nursing leadership
- Registered with the Nursing Council of Kenya and hold a valid Practicing License
- Valid BLS and ACLS certifications
