HealthX Africa is an early-stage healthtech startup building modern telemedicine and digital pharmacy solutions for Africa. The company is seeking a skilled IT Administrator to support and maintain the systems that power patient care, clinics, and internal teams.

This role is ideal for a hands-on problem solver with end-to-end systems knowledge and the ability to operate in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.

Qualifications

  • 2–4 years’ experience in IT support, system administration, or technical operations.
  • Proficiency with Windows/Linux, virtualization tools, and cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP).
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft 365, Azure AD, and Intune.
  • Familiarity with PBX/VoIP systems and cloud-hosted applications.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills across devices, networks, and applications.
  • Proactive mindset with strong ownership and systems-level understanding.
  • Diploma/Degree in IT, Computer Science, Networking, or equivalent experience.

Good to Have Skills

  • Experience supporting digital health, telemedicine, or clinical systems.
  • Certifications such as CompTIA Network+, CCNA, or Azure Fundamentals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide 1st-line IT support across all departments using the helpdesk system.
  • Maintain network stability for clinics, HQ, and remote teams (Wi-Fi, VPNs, failover systems).
  • Troubleshoot VoIP/PBX, telehealth platforms, video consultation tools, and hardware/software issues.
  • Support new clinic setups, expansions, and virtual clinic deployments.
  • Manage user accounts, permissions, and compliance in Microsoft 365, Azure AD, and Intune.
  • Enforce cybersecurity best practices, including MFA, endpoint protection, and identity management.
  • Maintain access logs, device inventories, and IT documentation.
  • Set up and support clinic devices (laptops, routers, medical devices, digital pharmacy tools).
  • Resolve issues related to EMR, telehealth, and digital pharmacy systems.
  • Ensure systems are updated, secure, and compliant.
  • Provide feedback to engineering teams and assist in testing new features.
