Job Purpose

Reporting to the Director – Group IT, the role holder leads business analysis and solution architecture activities across enterprise initiatives to ensure delivery of secure, scalable, fit-for purpose, and architecture-aligned technology solutions for the Bank. The role is responsible for translating business priorities, customer and operational needs, and regulatory requirements into clear requirements, process designs, and solution options that support effective decision-making and disciplined execution. This includes shaping functional and non-functional requirements, reviewing solution trade-offs, and ensuring alignment to enterprise architecture, data and integration principles, operational resilience expectations, and information security standards. The role also strengthens delivery governance by working closely with Business, Technology, Risk, Security, Operations, and vendors to improve solution quality, reduce rework, accelerate implementation, and enhance value realization across Group programmes and change initiatives.

Key Accountabilities (Duties and Responsibilities)

Strategy & Financial 25% 

  • Support business and technology strategy execution by translating priority initiatives into clear requirements, solution options, and architecture-aligned designs.
  • Drive option analysis that balances business value, implementation effort, cost, control, and long-term maintainability.
  • Improve return on technology investment by reducing requirement ambiguity, avoidable rework, and fragmented design decisions.
  • Contribute to demand shaping and prioritisation through structured business case, feasibility, and impact assessment inputs.

Internal Business Processes 35%

  • Lead requirements elicitation, analysis, validation, and traceability for complex business and technology initiatives across the Group.
  • Develop current-state and future-state process maps, functional and non-functional requirements, user stories, and solution design artefacts.
  • Ensure solution designs align with enterprise architecture principles, integration standards, data requirements, resilience expectations, and support models.
  • Support design reviews, SIT/UAT readiness, change impact assessment, and implementation planning.
  • Promote standardised analysis methods, documentation quality, and stronger change control across initiatives.

Customer 20%

  • Partner with Business, Operations, Risk, and Technology teams to translate customer and operational needs into practical, robust, and compliant solutions.
  • Improve stakeholder experience through clear communication, structured requirements management, and predictable delivery support.
  • Enable faster turnaround of product, process, and system change by improving requirement quality and solution decision-making early in the lifecycle.

Learning & Growth 20%

  • Mentor analysts and support uplift of business analysis and solution design capability across the technology function.
  • Encourage reuse of standards, patterns, templates, and architecture-aligned delivery practices.
  • Build stronger collaboration between business analysis, architecture, engineering, testing, and service teams to improve execution quality. 

Job Specifications

Academic:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business IT, or a related field.
  • Master’s degree in Information Systems, Technology Management, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
  • Business Analysis certification such as CBAP, CCBA, or PMI-PBA preferred.
  • Architecture certification such as TOGAF or equivalent is an added advantage.
  • Agile / Scrum and ITIL certification preferred.

Professional: 

  • Minimum 8–12 years’ relevant experience in business analysis, systems analysis, solution design, or architecture within a complex enterprise environment.
  • At least 5 years’ experience in banking, financial services, fintech, or another highly regulated environment.
  • Proven track record in leading requirements and solution design for enterprise-wide or mission-critical initiatives.
  • Strong experience working with business stakeholders, delivery teams, and third-party vendors.
  • Exposure to regulatory-driven technology change, integrations, data flows, and control environments in banking is an added advantage.
