Electrical & Computer Engineering

About Candidate

I am a Graduate Electrical & Computer Engineer currently involved in the Testing and Commissioning of the Olkaria I Geothermal Power Plant Rehabilitation Project at KenGen.

At Olkaria I, I have gained valuable hands-on experience in the pre-commissioning and functional testing of critical electrical systems for the new Toshiba Steam Turbine Generators. My responsibilities include:

Functional testing and commissioning of MV & LV Switchgear, Power Transformers, and Generator Protection Control Panels.
Performing Hi-Pot (High Potential) testing, insulation resistance tests, primary & secondary injection testing, and protection scheme verification.
Testing and troubleshooting of Emergency Diesel Generator (EDG) systems, Automatic Voltage Regulators (AVR), excitation systems, and STG PLC Control Cabinets.
Conducting loop checks, interlock verification, sequence logic testing, and system integration for safe and reliable plant operation.

This experience has strengthened my practical knowledge in power plant electrical systems, protection & control, commissioning procedures, and geothermal power generation. Working in a live industrial environment has also enhanced my understanding of safety protocols, standards compliance, and multidisciplinary teamwork.

I am passionate about the energy sector and eager to apply my technical skills in power generation, transmission, and distribution. Open to internship, graduate trainee, or entry-level opportunities in Electrical Engineering.
